Meet Laura

Hi, I’m Laura! I help couples who feel disconnected or at odds find their way back to each other, and I also support individuals hoping to understand themselves better and turn self criticism into self compassion. I believe that we all have a story. Parts of that story were written by our family, our community, society, and our younger selves. What if you could re-imagine and rewrite parts of that story to feel more aligned with your authentic self? What would that look like? I would love to help you get there!

My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate. Together, we can explore and uncover the patterns and beliefs that may be causing distress in your relationship with yourself and others. I believe in the power of having a space to be completely heard, validated, and honored for the incredible person that you are (mistakes, flaws, and all). And in doing that, space opens up for honest exploration and meaningful growth.

My practice blends narrative therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness, emotion focused therapy, and a strengths-based, trauma informed perspective. I am trained in brainspotting, a powerful therapeutic approach that helps access and resolve emotional pain, trauma, and other challenges by working directly with the brain-body connection. If you’ve ever wondered why you overreact in certain situations, or notice your heart pounding or hands shaking when you aren’t in danger, brainspotting can help with that!

We may be a great fit if:

  • You are hoping to reconnect with your partner and overcome relationship obstacles

  • You are noticing patterns in relationships that may have been passed down from previous generations and are hoping to break the cycle.

  • You are a parent hoping to do things differently than your parents (which may include some re-parenting along the way)

  • You are experiencing grief, whether it stems from the death of a loved one or other types of loss (end of a relationship, career changes, embracing new identity, loss of home)

  • You are going through a life transition

  • You are a caregiver who is feeling burnt out
